Based on the true story of Mary Campbell, a 12-year-old girl kidnapped by the Delaware tribe in 1759 Pennsylvania, this story reveals Mary's refusal to adopt any of the Delaware ways, but then she pretends to learn until her chance to escape comes. When that chance to leave is at hand, Mary realizes she is no longer pretending, and she's not sure she wants to return to her old life.
