King of Bluegrass: The Life & Times of Jimmy Martin

This lively documentary about Jimmy Martin, the most colorful figure in bluegrass music, follows Martin's lifelong quest to reach his childhood dream of becoming a regular cast member of Nashville's Grand Ole Opry. The film interweaves the story of his quest with interviews and recently shot footage that (thanks to a film crew that followed Martin on tour throughout the South and Midwest) vividly captures the essence of the man and his music.
