In 2024, Lydia Deetz, host of Ghost House, starts seeing visions of the ghost Betelgeuse, who haunted her family years ago. After her father's funeral, Lydia's daughter Astrid is tricked by a ghost named Jeremy into helping him return to life. Lydia, realizing Jeremy is dangerous, calls on Betelgeuse for help, agreeing to marry him in exchange for saving Astrid.

Betelgeuse helps Lydia rescue Astrid in the afterlife, while Delia accidentally kills herself during a ritual. At Lydia's wedding to Betelgeuse, the truth about Rory’s intentions is revealed. Astrid then uses the handbook to summon a sandworm that destroys Betelgeuse’s ex-wife, Delores, and saves Lydia from marrying him. Lydia later retires from her show but continues to have nightmares of Betelgeuse.
