In a dystopian near future, the "Grand Lottery" requires the randomly selected winner to survive until sundown, as anyone holding a losing ticket can legally kill the winner to claim a multi-billion dollar jackpot—no firearms allowed.

By 2030, California's desperate government introduces this deadly game. Katie Kim, a former child star aiming to relaunch her career, unwittingly wins the $3.6 billion prize. Renting a room from opportunistic Shadi and DJ in Los Angeles, Katie is immediately targeted by would-be killers. She encounters Noel Cassidy, a freelance Lottery protection agent, who offers to help her survive in exchange for 10% of her winnings.

With Noel’s non-lethal tactics and guidance, they evade attackers and race against time. He explains that a drone will track Katie’s location every 14 minutes and that she can escape the Lottery by reaching the Grapevine, a safe zone outside the city.
