Katherine Loewe, a struggling writer, travels to a Moroccan resort to finish her novel after separating from her long-term partner. Owen Brophy, a finance manager, accompanies his girlfriend, Lily, who is attending a writer’s retreat. Katherine and Owen bond during a local excursion, while Owen faces challenges with Lily and the retreat’s demanding authors.

As tensions rise with Lily’s escalating drinking and an affair, Owen and Katherine's connection deepens into a romance. However, after Katherine's laptop containing her novel is stolen, she returns to New York. Months later, they reunite at a bar, where Katherine confesses her feelings, leading to a heartfelt kiss.
