Feluda is called to Gosaipur by Jiban Mallick, the son of the local Zamindar Shyamlal Mallick to investigate a threat of his father's life. Everyone in the village knows that father and the son are at loggerheads. Shyamlal is also an eccentric who eschews anything modern. Then, instead of Syamlal, his son Jiban Mallick is killed and the wealth of Mallick's looted. Oddly though, the dead body of Jiban Mallick vanishes, only to reappear again. Feluda works this out with a mixture of investigating skills and deception.

Jayabrata Ray, a teacher of a reputed school in Kurseong, finds himself in a helpless situation after losing his eyesight. Although the school authorities allow him to continue with his job for a while, but all hell breaks loose when he starts getting threat calls from the management asking him to vacate his property that is situated right inside the school premises. Jayabrata, who had also been a student of the same school, could see through their real intention and simply refuses to budge.

This is a story of four friends & school buddies. Out of them, only Ashim is an earning person, he is a doctor. Earlier, they started a Bangla Band, where Hari was the lead singer, but they were heavily thrashed by the public in a stage show in North Bengal. They decided not to sing any more. Then they started a traveling agency. On their first trip, they start the journey with only 9 passengers and a girl who later joins them. The film deals with their journey via Kalimpong. The ten passengers are of ten different types and also the four tour operators are of four different natures. As the journey progresses, their characters were revealed one by one.

An old man of Ghurghutia village near Palashi invited Feluda to solve a puzzle. The man's pet parrot recites a numeric code which is actually the combination number of his iron chest. The parrot says— Trinayan, o trinayan, ektu jiron. When Feluda solved the puzzle he gave him four rare books of Émile Gaboriau as a reward. The very next day when Feluda is returning towards Kolkata with Topshe, smelled something fishy in the old man's house. He started last time investigation and it revealed that all was a made up plan and there was a murder behind the entire plot.
