In this political drama, a journalist accused as a conspirator in the murder of an American colleague is released for lack of evidence, and then searches for the true culprits. Inspired by the true events of the murder of American journalist George Polk, this film was shot in 1967 and was banned by the coming military dictatorship in Greece. It had only been shown abroad, until it premiered in 1974 after the dictatorship's fall .

Twenty-year-old homosexual Angelos, who works in a jewelry shop, lives very discreetly in a rather hostile social environment. When he falls in love with a sailor, Michalis, he decides to leave home, abandoning his alcoholic father, his hysterical mother and his disabled sister, to live with his lover. Later on, he will also join the army. A former lover of his visits him and tells him things about Michalis. At a party, Michalis forces Angelos to dress up as a woman. Later on, Angelos ends up on the street with other transvestites. He gets arrested and expelled from the Navy, while his father kills himself out of shame. A family story of incest, decadence and desolation. Greece, early twentieth century. A bourgeois family is on the verge of breaking up. The mother has abandoned the family, and the father, a retired officer, keeps his three daughters, as well as the illegitimate son of the oldest daughter, confined in the house. After his death, the three sisters live through their personal drama. The eldest, Eleni, imbued with the morals of the time and closely identifying with her father, tries to take his place. The middle one, Maria, representing rebellion, goes off with a captain of the sanitation service, while the youngest, Anna, skating on thin ice through all this, is completely destroyed.
