Likewise with Pinky (Meriam Bellina) and May (Sylvana Herman) who went down to the village as if they were going to shop at an elite shop. Their arrival also made the village hoodlums feel angry, so that the KKN activities were disturbed.

Like the film’s title, Parody of the Capital resembles a sketch of the community. Oom Pasikom, a cab driver, is stingy because of his measly income. Conversely, his wife moves within the high social circle and is a spendthrift due to her business as jewelry broker. Through Oom Pasikom’s glasses, small stories of the city are told - the ladies’ social gathering, lonely wives, the cleaning of the city and how it affects the small businesses, a student who is writing her thesis and so on.

Shortly after the proclamation of Indonesia's independence, the threat of a second aggression from the Allied forces emerged. Hamka decided to travel around Medan to spread the importance of unity between the community (religious figures) and the Indonesian military, in order to prevent them from being divided. However, this effort led to Hamka being shot. Fortunately, Hamka survived and as a result of his service, he moved to Jakarta and founded Al-Azhar. However, Hamka was falsely accused of being involved in a rebellion against Soekarno. He was arrested and tortured to sign a confession letter. Hamka persisted and his experience led to him writing the most influential book in Islamic education, the Tafsir Al Azhar.

Kabayan undergoes a long journey to get his soul mate, Nyi Iteung, since Abah, the latter’s father, does not agree to have a son-in-law from the village. Kabayan has to go to the city to find his luck, assisted by his friend, Joni Kemod and his master, Nora Nori. Now, Kabayan, as a city person, is coming home to propose to Nyi Iteung. The film ends with Abah's acceptance of Kabayan for what he is.

Dudi Saleh (Rano Karno) and his wife, Tience (Eva Arnaz), get caught up in a misunderstanding when Tisna Subrata (Rachmat Hidayat) and Ratna (Ayu Lestari) become their new neighbors. Tisna is Dudi’s former professor, while Ratna is a former girlfriend. This misunderstanding is exacerbated by the interference of their Neighborhood Unit Head (Sena A. Utoyo), who is still a bachelor. A similar misunderstanding arises between Firman (Wawan Wanisar) and his wife, Ida (Ully Artha). The presence of sexy Neighborhood Unit secretary, Evita (Yurike Prastica), heats up the situation even more. The confusion is finally cleared up by Ohim (Salim Bungsu), a servant. In the end, the Neighborhood Head ends up married to the woman of his dreams.
