Prakash (N. T. Rama Rao) & Shekar (Kanta Rao) are childhood friends. Shekar belongs to a rich family he gives a job to Prakash in his company. Prakash lives along with his mother Shantamma (Rushyendramani) and sister Vimala (Krishna Kumari) who loves Shekar. But Shekar’s mother Kamalamma (Kannamba), wants her son to get a rich alliance. Once Shekar sends Prakash to Banglore on an official trip where he gets acquaintance with Kokila (Rajasulochana) daughter of a millionaire Kameswara Rao (Relangi) and both fall in love. Kamalamma comes to know about Kokila when she talks with Kameswara Rao he replies that he is helpless because his daughter is already in love with Prakash. From that time Kamalamma keeps a grudge on Prakash and develops animosity in Shekar against him.

Once upon a time, there was a kingdom Udayagiri, its king (Mukkamala) has two sons Pratap (N. T. Rama Rao) a valiant man and Jagajithu (Lanka Satyam), a poltroon man that envies his brother. Pratap's life ambition is to couple up with Devakanyas the angels Jayanthi/Indrakumari (B. Saroja Devi), Nagini/Nagakumari (L. Vijayalakshmi), Varuni/Varunakumari (Jayanthi), and Marichi/Agnikumari (Bala). Upon knowing this, the angered king ostracizes him from the country.

Sri Varada Sri Krishna Yachendra, Zamindar of Mangalapuram writes in his will that his jewelry will be given to the temple. Bhadrachalam temple trustee Dharma Rao, while taking the jewelry, met with an accident and the jewelry disappears. Twenty years roll by, Prabhakar Rao, who was an inspector at the time of the crime, is now police commissioner. Diwan Raja Bhushnam becomes a big industrialist. Trustee Dharma Rao had two sons, Raja Rao and Gopal Rao. Gopal Rao mysteriously meets Radha, daughter of Prabhakar Rao and they fall in love. At a party, Raja Rao behaves against Raja Bhushnam and he is sent to jail. Gopal Rao wants to find out the reason for the injustice done to his brother Raja Rao. He meets Raja Bhushnam and he says that his father had stolen jewelry belonging to the temple and committed suicide. To know the truth, Gopal Rao goes to the commissioner. The rest of the story is how Gopal Rao catches the real culprits and proves his father's innocence.

Zamindar of a village has no children and adopts a boy from an Orphanage. The boy grows up as Anandarao (NTR) and returns to the village after higher education. Zamindar, while dying, hands over the estate affairs to Ramaiah (Doraiswamy), who gains good reputation and prestige. He has a son Satyam (ANR) and a daughter Sundaramma (Savitri). Anandrao feels jealous about Ramaiah. Chalapathi (Ramana Reddy) and Pitchaiah (Chadalavada) adds to his jealousy. He insults Ramaiah and stops the donation program running on the name of Zamindar. Satyam as unemployed joins as a Bus conductor and Ramaiah dies of helplessness. Anandrao purchases the Bus and dismisses Satyam from the job.
