Carmel Amit

Carmel Amit is an Israeli/Canadian actor, director, and teacher based in Vancouver. She trained at The American Academy of Dramatic Arts in NY and has continued her education in various theatre practices. Carmel has worked with directors like Ang Lee and Peter Farrelly, and has appeared alongside actors such as Nicolas Cage and Josh Duhamel.

Her notable TV roles include recurring parts in Virgin River and You Me Her. She won a Leo Award for her role in the Lifetime movie To Have and to Hold. Carmel has been featured on major networks including HBO, ABC, CBS, and Netflix.

Carmel directs theatre, experimenting with traditional performance expectations. She owns an acting school and coaching business with her partner. In 2018, she performed in Vancouver's first immersive theatre production, Deep Into Darkness, inspired by Edgar Allen Poe. In 2020, she directed COCK, the first post-COVID live-streamed and live-performed theatre production. In 2022, she directed and produced an original one-woman show, DOLL, staged in her home for an immersive experience.
