1948 (77 лет)Rasim Balayev was born on 8 August 1948 in Aghsu region of Azerbaijan. At the age of 15-16, he got involved in theater performances. Being from rural area, Rasim's family attempted to push him to choose a different career, though he never did and got enrolled in Azerbaijani Institute of Arts, from which he graduated in 1969. The actor's first film experience on big screen came with a short role in the film "Stars don't die away". Rasim Balayev's fame came after his part in 3 movies and participation in two film festivals: the 7th Soviet festival in Baku and 3rd International festival in Tashkent where he received an award for Best Actor and several proposals for main roles in future movies. Among his best performances are films Nasimi, Babek, The Scoundrel, Anecdote, and The Bat.

The film is about oilmen having different ideals and decisions, were also based on this same ideology, depiciting the heroism of oil workers, who never became exhausted and who continued working in oil, generation after generation. The investigator Seyfi Ganiyev runs the case of an illegal mercery shop's head Murad Abiyev, who confessed in embezzlement of one million rubles from public funds. Abiyev is also accused of the murder of an underage girls that occurred in Riga shortly after Abiyev saw her. He denies his guilt, but does not name the perpetrators though he knows them, despite the fact that he is facing the death penalty. The investigator understands that some high-ranking officials stand behind Abiyev, but he has no proof. Ganiyev seeks to obtain from the prisoner the whole truth to bring the criminals to justice.

While studying in Moscow, the GDR resident Christiane falls in love with Hatem, a fellow student from Syria. The two become a couple and even have a child together. When their study draws to an end, Christiane and Hatem have to decide if they want to share their future together. After Hatem explains to Christiane that as a woman she will not be able to work in Syria, Christiane suggests moving to the GDR together. For Hatem, however, this is out of the question, since he considers it a betrayal of his country. Thus, the two young people are forced to go separate ways.
