Великая Отечественная война, октябрь 1943 года. Майор Красной Армии Топорков, совершив побег из концлагеря, попадает в партизанский отряд. Он передаёт командиру отряда просьбу заключённых: в лагере готовится восстание, необходимо оружие. Командир отряда принимает решение отправить в помощь восставшим обоз с оружием и боеприпасами. Но командованию отряда известно, что у них в отряде действует предатель, все планы сообщающий врагам. И тогда командир решает отправить два обоза : один с настоящим оружием, а второй — ложный, для отвлечения немцев от настоящего. И вот идёт по Полесью, через чащобы и болота, по немецким тылам партизанский обоз, преследуемый по пятам немецкими егерями, отвлекая на себя силы фашистов и обратной дороги у него нет.
