The story begins with a swashbuckling thief, Surendra (Nandamuri Balakrishna), also a master of disguise, who always targets Vidhatha (Charan Raj), dictator of the city and he is being tracked down by SP Indrani (Sharada), an efficient Police officer. Surendra contracts a multi-speciality hospital for work free of cost with all this money. Whether Surendra and Indrani will be able take revenge against Vidhatha, and he will be able complete the hospital forms the rest of the story.

Ramu (Nandamuri Balakrishna) is an orphan whom Lawyer Raghava Rao (Jaggayya) and Gayatri Devi (Sharada) had adopted and treated like a son, as one of their four children. Ramu was very sensible and loved his parents a lot, he could do anything for his parents. Once Ramu meets Sita (Rajani), who is the daughter of the servant in their house and falls in love with her. Ramu's freedom and rights in the affairs of their house is not liked by their own sons Satish and Ramesh (Hari Prasad and Bhaskar) and son-in-law Gopalam (Sudhakar). So they plan and remove Ramu from their house and take all the authorities. Now Ramu is trying to reunite his family. Whether he will he be successful in his mission forms the rest of the story.

The film begins in a village whose president Chandraiah (Jaggayya) is a man of integrity who has been unanimously elected for the past 25 years, and has established peace. He leads a happy family life with his ideal wife Anasuya (Annapurna), three sons Sivaram (Eeswara Rao), Prasad (Sudhakar), and Ramakrishna (Nandamuri Balakrishna), two daughters-in-law Kamala (Y. Vijaya), and Satya (Rajyalakshmi), 1 daughter Poorna (Varalakshmi), and a grandson Gopi (Master Rajesh). Gopi is sweetest to both Chandraiah and Ramakrishna and he too strongly bonded with him. Dr. Nirmala (Vijayashanti), an orphan Christian girl, lives in a convent and wants to become a nun. She is sent to a village to Father Lawrence (Gollapudi Maruti Rao) and she works as a doctor in the village, where she meets an innocent youth, Muvva Gopala Krishna Prasad / Gopi (Nandamuri Balakrishna); Gopi and Nirmala fall in love with each other and after struggle Basava Raju finally accepts their marriage with Nagalakshmi's help. But Cunning Basava Raju prepares the puberty ceremony of Krishnaveni (Shobhana), Gopi's niece, and manages to hide a Thaali inside a flower garland. Gopi, as an uncle, puts the flower garland around Krishnaveni's neck and he gets married with her without knowing. Nagalakshmi complains against Basava Raju for arranging a child marriage, but the complaint is withdrawn. The rest of the story is what happens to Gopi and Nirmala.
