Ronald Long

1911 - 1986

British-born character actor, on stage at the Old Vic in London from 1936. Emigrated to the U.S. after World War II. Acted in plays off-Broadway from the late 40's and on television from 1951. Often seen as British authority figures, particularly politicians, aristocrats, military types and executives. Appeared on the television show Bewitched (1964) 6 times including a giant, Santa Claus, a ghost and King Henry VIII.

The request for the credit card comes to the desk of Ernie Klenk, a timid clerk. Nervous about his forthcoming marriage to the boss's secretary, Lucy, Ernie inadvertently okays the application, then, discovering his mistake, rushes to the health gym to recover the club card he has issued.
