Jonathan (Jon) Kolia Favreau (born October 19, 1966, New York) is an American film and television actor, director, screenwriter, producer, and television host.

Jon Favreau was born in Flushing, Queens, New York. His mother, Madeleine, was an elementary school teacher who passed away from leukemia in 1979. His father, Charles Favreau, was a special education teacher. Jon's mother was Jewish, and his father was an Italian-Catholic with French-Canadian roots.

Favreau graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1984 and enrolled at Queens College, but he dropped out in 1987. He worked on Wall Street for a while, then returned to college briefly before leaving for good without completing his degree.

In the summer of 1988, Favreau moved to Chicago, where he began performing with the "ImprovOlympic" and "Improv Institute" troupes. He later moved to Los Angeles and started landing small roles in low-budget films.

Favreau married Joya Tillem on November 24, 2000. The couple has three children: a son, Max, born on July 25, 2001, and two daughters, Madeleine, born in April 2003, and Brighton Rose, born in August 2006. Joya Tillem is the niece of Len Tillem, who works at KGO (AM).
