Raymond Albert Romano (born December 21, 1957) is an American stand-up comedian and actor, best known for his role as Ray Barone on the CBS sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond. His performance earned him three Primetime Emmy Awards—one as an actor and two as a producer. Romano also voiced Manny in the Ice Age film series. Over his career, he has received multiple accolades, including nominations for Grammy and Golden Globe Awards.

Romano created and starred in the TNT comedy-drama Men of a Certain Age (2009–2011) and had a recurring role in NBC's Parenthood from 2012 to 2015. He appeared in the romantic comedy The Big Sick (2017) and played mob lawyer Bill Bufalino in Martin Scorsese's The Irishman (2019). Romano also starred in the Epix series Get Shorty (2017–2019).

Born in Queens, New York, Romano grew up in Forest Hills. He is the second son of Luciana "Lucie," a piano teacher, and Albert Romano, a real estate agent and engineer. Romano has two brothers: Richard, a retired NYPD sergeant, and Robert, a second-grade teacher. He attended Hillcrest High School, graduating in 1975, and briefly studied accounting at Queens College.

Romano married Anna Scarpulla in 1987, whom he met while working at a bank. They have four children. His real-life family inspired many elements of Everybody Loves Raymond; for example, his TV daughter was named after his real daughter, Ally, and his twin sons inspired the Barone twins.

In 2012, Romano revealed that his wife Anna had successfully battled stage one breast cancer in 2010, a story they shared to raise awareness. He was close friends with Doris Roberts, who played his on-screen mother Marie Barone and credited her as a mentor who helped him feel comfortable on set.
