Keneti James Fitzgerald Apa, known as KJ Apa, is a multi-talented New Zealand actor, singer, painter, model, and musician, born on June 17, 1997. He has won a Saturn Award and earned nominations for MTV Movie & TV Awards, People's Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards. In September 2022, he was honored with the matai title of Savae chief of his village Moata'a. Apa first gained fame as Kane Jenkins on Shortland Street (2013–2015) and later as Archie Andrews in Riverdale (2017–2023). His film credits include A Dog's Purpose (2017), The Hate U Give (2018), and I Still Believe (2020). In 2021, he released his indie folk-rock debut album Clocks.

Apa was born at Waitakere Hospital in Auckland, New Zealand. He is the son of Tupa'i and Tessa Apa (née Callander). His father, Keneti Apa, is Samoan and a matai (chief) in Samoa, while his mother is of European New Zealand descent. Apa and his father share a name inspired by John F. Kennedy, with "Keneti" being the Samoan form of "Kennedy." He has two older sisters and is the nephew of Michael Jones, a former rugby union player and coach. Apa attended King's College in Auckland before starting his acting career.

In September 2017, Apa was involved in a minor car accident in Vancouver, where his car's passenger side collided with a light pole. The accident occurred late at night and was caused by him falling asleep at the wheel after a long day of filming, but he was not injured.

In May 2021, Apa revealed that he and French model Clara Berry were expecting their first child, who was born in September 2021.

Raised in a Christian family, Apa identifies as a Christian. In April 2018, he publicly criticized Australian rugby player Israel Folau's statement that gay people were destined for Hell according to God's plan, calling Folau's comments "disappointing."
