Eli Raphael Roth (born April 18, 1972) is an American filmmaker and actor, best known for his work in the horror genre, particularly splatter films like Cabin Fever (2002) and Hostel (2005). He further established himself in horror with films like Hostel: Part II (2007), The Green Inferno (2013), and Thanksgiving (2023), while also exploring other genres with the thriller Knock Knock (2015), the action remake Death Wish (2018), and the action-comedy Borderlands (2024). Roth is also known for his role as Donny "The Bear Jew" Donowitz in Quentin Tarantino's Inglourious Basterds (2009), earning a Critic's Choice and a Screen Actors Guild Award.

Roth is often associated with the "Splat Pack," a group of directors known for their graphic horror films. In 2013, he received the Visionary Award at the Stanley Film Festival for his contributions to the genre.

Born in Newton, Massachusetts, Roth is the middle of three sons to Sheldon, a psychiatrist and Harvard professor, and Cora, a painter. Raised in a Jewish household with roots in Austria, Hungary, Russia, and Poland, Roth speaks several languages, including French, Italian, and basic Russian.

Roth married Chilean actress Lorenza Izzo in 2014, but they divorced in 2019. In 2023, he revealed in an interview that he had remarried.
