William Stanley Zmitrowicz Jr. (born May 16, 1947), professionally known as Bill Smitrovich, is an American actor.

Born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, he is the son of Anna and Stanley William Zmitrowicz, a tool and die maker, and has Polish ancestry. Smitrovich graduated from the University of Bridgeport in 1972 and earned an MFA from Smith College in 1976. He is married to Shaw Purnell and has a son, Alexander John, and a daughter, Maya Christina.

Smitrovich gained fame in the 1980s for his role as Det. Sgt. Danny Krychek in Crime Story. He starred in the drama Life Goes On (1989–93), was a lead guest star in the Miami Vice pilot, and appeared in the final episode of NYPD Blue. Notable roles include Seattle police lieutenant Bob Bletcher in Millennium, Inspector Cramer in A Nero Wolfe Mystery, and Assistant District Attorney Kenneth Walsh on The Practice. He also played Chief Alex Olcyk in Without a Trace and Vice President Raymond Jarvis in The Event (2010).

In films, Smitrovich has portrayed military characters in Independence Day (1996), Air Force One (1997), and Eagle Eye (2008). His guest appearances span shows like Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, 24, and Law & Order: SVU. He has also starred in TV films, including The Reagans (2003), and appeared in movies such as Silver Bullet (1985) and Iron Man (2008). Smitrovich played Mr. Zimburger in The Rum Diary and CIA head Hanley in The November Man.
