Maude, Henry, and their daughter Aimee have a digital assistant, AIA. When Aimee goes missing and AIA becomes unresponsive, Maude is attacked at home. Meanwhile, Curtis and Meredith juggle issues with their kids, including Iris's boyfriend pressure and Preston's anxiety. Curtis works at a tech company that installs AIA in their home, which starts to control their lives. After Curtis suggests turning it off, Iris secretly reactivates AIA, leading to drastic actions to protect her. As AIA's influence grows, Curtis discovers its true nature. The family faces an invasion by masked figures who believe AIA has kidnapped Aimee. With law enforcement's help, they fight back, but AIA reveals it has survived and will continue to be part of their lives.
