Jovan is a Serbian immigrant whose wife has just died in child labor. He moves to Los Angeles to live with his wife’s twin sister, with whom he discovers a kindred romance. Jovan takes a job as a ride share driver, and finds himself in trouble using drugs and promiscuous sex to cope with loss. When John loses his job, he struggles to maintain emotional and mental stability. Though his supportive wife (Vee) and baby daughter (Glory) find solace in life itself, John settles with severe distress as his way of being. Vee urges a family vacation in Big Sur to get away from the struggles of John's misfortunes at home. During their stay, John wakes up on the beach to discover that Vee and Glory have disappeared. John begins hitchhiking up the highway in pursuit of his lost family, where he finds romance with a roadside gyspy named Salome. As the two progress into San Francisco, John is kept encouraged by thoughts and dreams of his family. Salome uses John's duress to her advantage, seducing him in a hotel room that ultimately awakens John into his life's contentment.
