Директор завода собрал в одном цеху всю молодежь, доверив ей и работу, и управление. Эксперимент получился неудачным, так как молодежный цех не стал коллективом. Молодой инженер Сергей (Валерий Бессараб), возглавивший цех, понял, что только объединив молодежь, он сможет плодотворно работать и вести борьбу с браком и недисциплинированностью. Осуществить задуманное Сергеем помог выбранный комсоргом Цыбулькин. В цех на практику приходят две школьницы. Одна из них - Лиза Громова, дочь директора завода. Коллектив цеха и Сергей берутся за перевоспитание этой избалованной матерью девицы. Им помогает сам директор Громов.

The beautiful Tanya returns to her small mining town, after supposedly working as a model in Moscow. She decides to marry her shy school sweetheart Mishka, who now works in the mine.
