2021Gabrielle has recently completed her first feature length film ISLAND OF THE HUNGRY GHOSTS, set on the remote Christmas Island. The film has won several awards including ; Best Documentary at the Tribeca Film Festival 2018, the Buyens-Chagoll Award at Visions du Réel 2018, Grand Jury Prize at Mumbai International Film Festival and the IDFA Human Rights Award. The film was nominated for a Cinema Eye Spotlight Award and an Award for best Sound and Cinematography at the Australian Academy Awards. The film is currently in theatrical distribution in the UK, Australia, the US and Germany.
Gabrielle’s short film THE ISLAND was launched on via the Guardian Documentary platform and premiered at the Sheffield Film Festival 2017. The film won Best Short Film at the Ânûû-rû âboro Festival in New Caledonia. Gabrielle studied Documentary Direction for three years at the International Film School in Cuba (EICTV) where she made several short films (BROKEN PANTS, MILAGRO, FALL). Gabrielle has previously studied Theatre performance.
