John Benjamin Hickey (born June 25, 1963) is an American actor known for his work in theater, film, and television. He won the Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Play in 2011 for his role as Felix Turner in The Normal Heart.

Hickey was born in Plano, Texas, and graduated from Plano Sr. High School in 1981. He attended Texas State University - San Marcos from 1981 to 1983, actively participating in the theater department, before earning his bachelor’s degree in English from Fordham University in 1985.

He originated the role of Arthur in Terrence McNally's Love! Valour! Compassion! on Broadway in 1995, reprising it for the 1997 film version. Hickey's film credits include The Ice Storm (1997), The Anniversary Party (2001), Flightplan, Flags of Our Fathers, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, and Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows. He portrayed Clifford Bradshaw in the 1998 Broadway revival of Cabaret and starred in the independent film Finding North.

On Broadway, he also played Reverend John Hale in the 2002 revival of The Crucible and starred in the TV shows It's All Relative, Alias, Law & Order, Brothers & Sisters, and Modern Family. He portrayed Frank Winter in the series Manhattan (2014–2015) and appeared Off-Broadway in Dada Woof Papa Hot (2015). He created the role of Henry Wilcox in the 2018 premiere of The Inheritance and was cast as Father Callahan in the film adaptation of 'Salem's Lot in 2021.

Hickey is openly gay and has been in a relationship with screenwriter and television producer Jeffrey Richman since 2003.
