Actor Maurice P. Kerry

Maurice P. Kerry

Maurice P. Kerry, whose name means "handsome and dark," is the eldest of three siblings, born in Atlanta, Georgia, to Adrianne D. Pless and Donald S. Horton. A U.S. Marine Corps veteran who served in Operation Iraqi Freedom II, Kerry is now a full-time single father, director, gamer, and acting coach.

After his military service, Kerry faced homelessness in Southern California for over a year before starting his acting career. He began landing roles in 2006 and quickly took the craft seriously, earning feature roles in independent films like Deadly Dispatch and Grobb. Simultaneously, he built a reputation as San Diego rapper "7K" with the Marine rap group SouthuNoyZ.

Passionate about maintaining physical and mental strength for his daughter, Kerry is an advocate for health, especially as a disabled veteran with PTSD. A former Marine rifleman and welder, he also worked as an EMT/Firefighter and Security Contractor in Kuwait, and now focuses on bullying prevention. He lives by mantras like "Don't Quit, Grit!" and "Hard ain't impossible," reminding himself that if he survived Iraq, no opinion can bring him down.
