Rupert Miles Sanders, born on March 16, 1971, is an English film director known for his work on "Snow White and the Huntsman" (2012), "Ghost in the Shell" (2017), and the upcoming film "The Crow" (2024). In 2021, he directed the pilot episode of the science fiction series "Foundation" for Apple TV+.

Born in Westminster, London, Sanders is the eldest son of Thalia Garlick and Michael Sanders, a hospital ophthalmologist. He began his studies at Kingston School of Art before earning a degree in graphic design from Central St Martins.

In 2002, Sanders married model Liberty Ross, the sister of composer Atticus Ross. The couple relocated to Los Angeles to support Sanders' career and have two children, Skyla and Tennyson. In July 2012, Us Weekly published photos of Sanders with actress Kristen Stewart, leading to public apologies from both Sanders and Stewart. Ross filed for divorce in January 2013, seeking joint custody, spousal support, and legal fees. The divorce was finalized on May 30, 2014.
