Karel Dobrý (born May 2, 1969, in Karlovy Vary) is a Czech actor known for his work in theater, film, and television.

His parents divorced when he was only six months old and were not involved in his upbringing. He was raised by his grandparents. From the ages of eight to twelve, he lived in Syria with his grandfather, who worked as a construction worker, and attended a Russian school where he learned English and basic Arabic.

Upon returning to Prague, he became passionate about theater. He earned a degree from the Theatre Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts. He worked in various theaters, including the Prague National Theatre, where he performed until 2017. In 2013, he received the Alfred Radok Theatre Award, and in 2018, he won the "Czech Lion" award.

He has been actively acting in film and television, with roles in over 100 movies and TV series, thanks in part to his knowledge of several languages, including Russian, German, and English. For a long time, he struggled with alcohol addiction and aggression, but according to him, he has fully recovered.
