One fine day, Dr. Rama Lingeswara Rao (Paresh Rawal) - dean of the biggest medical college in Hyderabad - exposes the real identity Shankar Dada to his parents. Gravely disappointed, Shanakr Dada's parents vow not to visit their son's place and leave him. An emotionally wrecked Shankar Dada decides to become doctor in real to teach a lesson to Dr. Lingam and his beautiful daughter Sunita (Sonali Bendre) and at the same time to prove to his parents that their son is a doctor, in deed!

The film starts off with the killing of two lovers by Veerabadrayya who is a Rayalaseema factionist and is against love marriages. Giridhar goes to Kurnool, to his sister’s house where he falls in love with their young and beautiful neighbor Kaveri. She too falls in love with Giri. Kaveris father, none other than Veerabadrayya himself comes to know about their affair and as expected resents, so Giri escape with Kaveri. Veerabadrayya sends his goons in their chase. Finally what happens forms the rest of the story?

City-based Murli along with several male friends attend a marriage ceremony of one of their friends in a small village community. They travel by train, and arrive there awaiting to see what kind of transportation has been provided for them. To their shock and dismay they find that the only transportation available for them is a bullock-cart. They get their good spirits together and join to liven up the wedding festivities. Murli meets a beautiful young woman named Jaanu, and both fall in love with each other. Unfortunately for Murli, Jaanu is engaged to be married to a senior local police inspector. Murli approachs Jaanu's parents to change thier minds, all in vain though, as a wedding date has been fixed, and nothing can be changed. Disheartened, Murli continues to assist in Jaanu's wedding preparation, hoping that a miracle will take place, and he will get married to her.

He takes the bribes and then invests all the money into rehabilitating his native village affected by Dharma Bhiksham. Dharma Bhiksham comes to know about it and rebels against Lakshmi Narasimha. The rest of the story is all about how Lakshmi Narasimha puts an end to the life of Dharma Bhiksham using illegal methods.

In the meantime, Eeswar's father marries Sujatha (Revathi), who has been waiting for him for the past 20 years so that she can be a good mother to Eeswar.
