Produced by Kevin Shirley, who also produced the band's two studio albums, the video's track listing is made up of six tracks from "Black Country" and nine tracks from "2", and includes a new instrumental track in the video's introduction, a Joe Bonamassa solo song and a Deep Purple cover. Deepest Purple: The Very Best of Deep Purple is a compilation album by the British hard rock band Deep Purple, released in 1980. It features the original hits of Deep Purple before their 1984 reunion. Aided by a TV advertising campaign it would become Purple's third UK #1 album. It was at one point the longest album ever released as a single LP, but it was overtaken by Def Leppard's Hysteria album in 1987. This also marked the debut of "Demon's Eye" for the North American release, where it was replaced by "Strange Kind of Woman" on Fireball. All songs from this album later appeared on Rhino's The Very Best of Deep Purple, along with 3 additional songs. Made in Japan was recorded live over three nights during 15–17 August 1972 at Festival Hall, Osaka and at Budokan, Tokyo, Japan. Four of the tracks come from the album Machine Head which had been released earlier that year. The album was at first seen as somewhat unimportant by the band members, and only Roger Glover and Ian Paice showed up to mix it. The release in the US was delayed, until April 1973, because Warner Bros. wanted to release Who Do We Think We Are first. The three concerts recorded were later released as Live in Japan 3-CD box set (1993). According to the liner notes for that set, unlike many live albums, there are no overdubs or studio additions to the original album.
