The film is based on the true story of a meeting between the two filmmakers and an unknown European. This meeting took place one evening in 2017, in a bar in Beirut. The man was on his way to join the Kurdish militia at war with the Islamic State on Syrian territory.

Noor Abed (b.1988 Jerusalem) is an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker. She studied in New York, Los Angeles, Beirut and Palestine. She creates multimedia works on the boundary of performance, film and new media, in which she often includes forms of dance and theater. Mark Lotfy (1981) was born in Alexandria, Egypt, and is an experimental filmmaker and producer. He explores the boundary between fictional narratives and documentary film, new media art and internet memes.
