When I had the chance to meet James Benning just one year after learning about his work, I had Eli Hayes on my mind. Eli had made me aware of Benning's work. I brought my camera to the interview and arrived early, in case I might see something interesting on the bike ride over. On the way home I found out why I had packed my camera, as I watched the sun appear at the end of a drab day, to set on a sky worthy of Benning. I didn’t know what to do with that shot, and it sat on my hard drive until now; it was for Eli.

Saturday Morning Sketch

A few weeks ago I got up on a beautiful Saturday morning, went out with my partner for a coffee, found a nice spot of light in nature near home, picked up the camera after coffee and went back to film. Cut it together later that day (be warned, it's rough, hence the 'sketch') and forgot about it! Until now. I'm trying to start sharing more while I work though because otherwise the gaps between the releasing of work would be much longer! And I'd prefer people see what I'm working on while I'm working so they'll be more excited when I release something 'proper' later on. Hopefully that includes you! Anyway, I hope you enjoy it. -MLP
