Rosy McEwen

Rosy McEwen is a British actress who won a British Independent Film Award for her leading role in Blue Jean (2022). She is also known for her performances in the TV series The Alienist (2020) and Close to Me (2021), as well as the film Vesper (2022). McEwen studied History of Art at the University of Leeds before training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. She changed her surname from Byrne to McEwen to avoid confusion with actress Rose Byrne.

McEwen has performed with the Royal Shakespeare Company and received praise for her roles in Timon of Athens and Tamburlaine. She also played Desdemona in Othello at the Royal National Theatre. Her upcoming projects include Apartment 7A, a prequel to Rosemary’s Baby.
