Stephen King

In 1999, the satirical publication The Onion published a letter supposedly from King, claiming he couldn't remember writing Tommyknockers, poking fun at his prolific output. In the 1980s, he struggled with alcohol and drug addiction, eventually seeking help, and has remained sober since the late 1980s. His first novel after overcoming his addictions was Needful Things.
Tabitha King has written nine novels, and both of their sons are authors: Owen published a collection of stories in 2005, while Joseph Hillstrom King, known as Joe Hill, released a collection and a novel that is set to be adapted. Their daughter, Naomi, serves in a Unitarian Universalist church in Plantation, Florida.
King is a fan of baseball and the Boston Red Sox. He sponsored the construction of a stadium in 1992 and threw the first pitch at the opening of the Senior League World Series in 2002. In 2014, he participated in the Ice Bucket Challenge to raise funds for ALS research.
Additionally, King performs with the rock band Rock Bottom Remainders, which covers popular songs.
