Joseph McGinty Nichol, known as McG (born August 9, 1968), is an American director, producer, and former record producer. He began his career in the music industry, directing music videos and producing albums. His breakthrough came with the film Charlie's Angels, which set the record for the highest-grossing opening weekend for a directorial debut. McG has directed other films like Terminator Salvation and This Means War, and co-created TV series such as Fastlane and Supernatural.

He founded his production company, Wonderland Sound and Vision, in 2001. Born in Kalamazoo, Michigan, and raised in Newport Beach, California, McG initially aspired to be a band frontman but later transitioned to a behind-the-scenes role. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from UC Irvine.

McG has faced challenges with agoraphobia, which affected his career, and his brother's overdose in 2007 profoundly impacted him. He was briefly involved with actress Bridget Moynahan starting in late 2010 and received an honorary doctorate from York College of Pennsylvania in 2022.
