The story is about a gay student - Max - and his life and sorrows in the separated Berlin...with aliens. Florian Gärtner's first film tells with a laconic sense of humor and in poetic black and white the story of gay boys in Berlin in the 1990s who come to the big city with their dreams of a free life and have to find themselves there first. “Aliens" has become a cult film in the memory of many fans over the years, but was unfortunately only rarely seen. Now there is a reunion with Max, Toby and Zenon and with the Berlin “SchwuZ" in the nineties.

When the story wins, Tina dresses as a man to collect the prize as Frank Schmidt. She is instead offered a job at the magazine and has to deal with pretending to be a man as well as her developing feelings for the chief editor, Moritz.

Her husband Torben advises her to get help, as her mania destroys the small family that still exists with the other daughter, Angelina. While working in the supermarket, Stefanie notices a girl in whom she thinks she recognizes her grown up daughter. She secretly follows her. When the police are called in, it finally turns out that it is actually Michelle who was kidnapped by her current mother, Ruth, who now offers her a well-protected home. A world collapses not only for the daughter, who suddenly no longer knows where she belongs, but also for two families at the same time a lot changes and an emotional roller coaster ride begins with an uncertain outcome.
