Sasirekha (Maheswari) is the daughter of a rich father (Jayaprakash Reddy), who is a strict disciplinarian and hates any kind of love affair. Ravi (Ravi Teja), an orphan, falls in love with Sasi and she also slowly develops feelings for Ravi. One day Ravi meets Sasi's father in the outskirts of the city and tells him all about his love. However, he is accidentally killed by Ravi in a scuffle. Sasi soon finds out that the real culprit is Ravi. Infuriated, she breaks up with him. Ravi, unable to bear the rejection, jumps from a hill. He escapes death, only to be told by the doctors that he is disabled and might be cured in the future if someone took care of him. In the climax, Sasi decides to stay with Ravi, who is nothing but a vegetable now, stating that what ever he did was just because of his love for her and she still is in love with him. City-based Murli along with several male friends attend a marriage ceremony of one of their friends in a small village community. They travel by train, and arrive there awaiting to see what kind of transportation has been provided for them. To their shock and dismay they find that the only transportation available for them is a bullock-cart. They get their good spirits together and join to liven up the wedding festivities. Murli meets a beautiful young woman named Jaanu, and both fall in love with each other. Unfortunately for Murli, Jaanu is engaged to be married to a senior local police inspector. Murli approachs Jaanu's parents to change thier minds, all in vain though, as a wedding date has been fixed, and nothing can be changed. Disheartened, Murli continues to assist in Jaanu's wedding preparation, hoping that a miracle will take place, and he will get married to her.

The movie starts with Chinni (Nagarjuna) revealing, on a train journey from Pune to Hyderabad, that he just got out of jail after seven years. His past is revealed in a flash back. He had been a singer, waiting for the big break. Indu (Simran Bagga) hears his voice, though she doesn't see him and becomes his fan. When Chinni realizes this, he tries to reveal who he is but circumstances place him and Indu in situations where she ends up thinking that he is a rowdy. Chinni ultimately becomes responsible for her losing her eyesight too. He devotes himself to her from then onwards attending to her every need. She learns to respect and love him too, thinking that he is the singer and not knowing that he is the same person she thought was a rowdy.
