This impresses a do-gooder and a don Thondaman (Sathyaraj). He urges him to join him for work. Thondaman is respected a lot for he provides justice to people in his own way. People in case of crisis approach him and not the police. Ganesan impressed by Thondaman's ways, develops an affinity with him and even decides to gives his life for him. Meanwhile Ganesan falls in love with one Poonkodi (Monica). Turn of events leaves a local Minister's son going crazy behind her. Enters a police officer (Ranjith) who plays spoilsport in their romance. He threatens Thondaman and hatches a conspiracy to ensure that Thondaman and Ganesan part ways. But things happen otherwise.

As a result he misses the interview, and ends up getting employed as a Garage Mechanic with Madan, his friend. He does meet with the same girl, gets to know her name is Jyotika, who lives a wealthy lifestyle with her mother, Sulo, while her dad is away on business. Both continue meeting not aware that her marriage has been arranged with Pratap. This story also depicts the possibility of Shakthi catching the 12B on time, attending the interview and getting hired, pursuing Jyotika in vain, and ending up in the arms of his co-worker, Priya. Both possibilities end up with Shakthi getting involved in a vehicle accident - and no guarantees that he will survive or wed Jyotika.

Rangan is a very ugly man and therefore lives a tough life. He is kicked out of jobs, ill-treated constantly, and the girl he loves hates him. With the Mask, Rangan generates followers, becomes a film star, and gets a wife who loves him solely for his handsome face. Nearing the end, Rangan takes off the Mask for a moment, and wishes people would respect him for who he is on the inside. His wife walks in, sees his ugly face, and throws him out, mistaking him for a robber. Rangan's former followers throw him to the side. Deciding that only beauty can bring him respect, Rangan puts the mask back on and lives the life of actor.

Sivaraman, an honest government clerk, and his wife Lakshmi, belong to a middle-class family and they have two children. Anja Singam Marudupandi, a corrupted politician, moves into a new house near Sivaraman's house. This puts pressure on Sivaraman and he takes a loan from his office peon but the police arrests him for corruption. He later finds a job in a brandy company with Marudupandi's recommendation.
