Mary stays behind to buy time and gives Furiosa a peach pit to remember her by. Furiosa refuses to leave, and Dementus forces her to watch her mother's crucifixion. Dementus, haunted by his family's death, adopts Furiosa, hoping she will lead him to the Green Place.
