Daniel Bernard (D. B.) Sweeney is an American actor known for his roles in television series and feature films.

Sweeney was born on November 14, 1961, in Long Island, New York. He graduated from Tulane University and the drama school at New York University. Despite facing some challenges in his studies, he made his theatrical debut in 1983 with a role in the play "The Trial of the Cain Rebellion."

D. B. Sweeney gained prominence primarily as a guest actor, landing his first roles in the series "On the Threshold of Night" and "Spencer." He also appeared in feature films such as "Eight Men Out" and "Memphis Belle."

Later, he participated in miniseries, including "Lonesome Dove," and the film "Golden Ice."

Sweeney actively supports American military personnel, making trips to the Middle East and Europe to boost the morale of soldiers and express gratitude. He founded the internet project "Letters from Hollywood," allowing celebrities to show their support for the U.S. military. In May 2008, he visited troops in Iraq and presented them with his new film "Two Tickets to Paradise."

In April 2000, Sweeney married Ashley Vachon; they have a son, Cade, and a daughter, Cody. They divorced in 2023.
