Yann Dedet
1946 (80 лет)Dedet has been working in film editing since the early 1970s. He often worked for film directors François Truffaut, Maurice Pialat and Nicole Garcia. His work includes more than 80 film and television productions. In 2012, Dedet was awarded the César Award for Best Editing with his co-editor Laure Gardette for the 2011 film Polisse. Before that, he had been nominated twice times. As an actor, he was only seen in small roles.

It is with Yann Dedet, the great French film editor known for his work with Truffaut and Pialat that the Belgian Joachim Lafosse has chosen to edit his fifth film, L’Économie du couple (After Love), the chronicle of a divorce and its emotional and economic repercussions on the couple and their children. The film shows that the interaction, sometimes fluid and sometimes tense, between two collaborators depends on an “economy of the couple”, whose intimacy is bared to the outside world when the critical step of a first screening for the producers arrives.

Japanese Yann Dedet's Land of the Singing Dog concerns a musicologist, Toyo Mahiru (Gen Shimaoka), and his wife, Yoshiko (Katsuo Nakamura), who travel to a remote French village because Toyo has heard there is a citizen of the village that owns a singing dog. As the childless pair humorously adjust to their new surroundings, they soon spend more time concentrating on conceiving than in searching for the talented canine. The subdued, reflective Land of the Singing Dog was screened as part of the Director's Fortnight at the 2002 Cannes Film Festival.
