
Sam Worthington

He attended John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle, where he studied drama but did not graduate. After leaving school, he worked in construction and odd jobs, eventually earning a scholarship to the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney.
Worthington gained widespread fame after starring in Avatar, but struggled with the pressures of fame, turning to alcohol before getting sober in 2014 with the support of his wife, model Lara Bingle. The couple married in December 2014 and have three sons, born in 2015, 2016, and 2020. Worthington is a Christian and has been sober since 2014.
