In a remote forest cabin, a woman known as "Momma" and her two young sons, Nolan and Samuel, believe they are the last survivors in a world ravaged by a supernatural force called "The Evil." As winter sets in and food runs low, Momma's mental state deteriorates, leading her to make drastic decisions, including threatening to kill their dog for food. When Nolan attempts to free Momma from her spiraling paranoia, it ends tragically, leading to a confrontation with a hiker that escalates violently. As chaos unfolds, Samuel becomes increasingly erratic, revealing the presence of "The Evil" within him. In the climax, a fire engulfs the house, and a shocking truth about their reality is unveiled, culminating in a harrowing rescue that leaves lingering questions about the true nature of the Evil.
