Born in Dallas and raised in Mart, Texas, Plemons graduated from Texas Tech University Independent School District in 2007. He is married to actress Kirsten Dunst, with whom he has two sons. The couple, who began dating in 2016, were both nominated for Academy Awards in 2022 for The Power of the Dog and married later that year.
