Steven Vincent (Steve) Buscemi (born December 13, 1957, Brooklyn, New York) is an American actor and director, winner of both Emmy and Golden Globe awards. Buscemi gained fame for his roles in films such as Parting Glances (1986), New York Stories (1989), Mystery Train (1989), Reservoir Dogs (1992), Armageddon (1998), and The Death of Stalin (2017). He also frequently collaborated with the Coen brothers, appearing in their films Miller's Crossing (1990), Fargo (1996), and The Big Lebowski (1998).

On television, Buscemi is best known for his role as Enoch "Nucky" Thompson in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire (2010–2014), which earned him a Golden Globe, several Screen Actors Guild awards, and two Emmy nominations.

Buscemi made his directorial debut in 1996 with Trees Lounge and went on to direct films such as Animal Factory (2000) and Lonesome Jim (2005). He also directed episodes of popular TV shows like The Sopranos and 30 Rock.

Steve was born to Dorothy and John Buscemi. His father, a Korean War veteran of Sicilian descent, worked as a sanitation worker, while his Irish-American mother was a waitress. In the early 1980s, Buscemi served as a firefighter in New York, and after the 9/11 attacks, he returned to help clear debris alongside his former colleagues.

From 1987 until her death in 2019, Buscemi was married to actress and director Jo Andres. They have a son, Lucian, born in 1990.
