Pilou Asbæk
1982 (44 года)Born in Copenhagen, Asbæk is the son of gallery owners Maria Patricia (née Tonn) and Jacob A. Asbæk, who operate Galerie Asbæk in the city. His mother hails from Casablanca, Morocco, with a Danish father and a French mother, while his father is originally from Hammel. He has two older brothers: Thomas, an art consultant at Asbæk Art Consulting, and Martin, who owns Martin Asbæk Gallery.
Asbæk attended Herlufsholm School, a boarding institution where he participated in drama productions. He graduated from Denmark's Danish National School of Performing Arts in the summer of 2008.
He is married to playwright Anna Bro, who has been his domestic partner since 2008. The couple welcomed a daughter, Agnes Bro Asbæk, on December 31, 2012. Anna is the daughter of actors Hans Henrik Clemensen and Vigga Bro and comes from a family with a strong theatrical background.
His nickname "Pilou" derives from his mother's French heritage and is a diminutive form of "Pip." This name reflects his status as the youngest son, with "le plus petit" meaning "the littlest" in French, translating to "Little Philip." Thus, Pilou is short for Petit Philip.
Asbæk’s godfather was the late artist Kurt Trampedach.
In January 2022, after criticizing the Danish government's strict refugee policies under Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, Asbæk joined the Danish Social Democratic Party to advocate for change from within.

Jacob Nossell, Pilou Asbæk
Jacob Nossell (24) is intelligent, but hardly fits the picture of a dream child: he suffers from a paralysis of the brain, a congenital physical handicap. It affects not only his powers of speech, but also causes cramps and stiffness. When he speaks, his words cluster together, and when he walks it is with difficulty. With a normal intelligence in a weakened body Jacob is the embodiment of the problem ‘what is normality’: he is too much of an invalid to be fully accepted by society and too ordinary for him to be able to accept his own fate.

Sex, Drugs & Taxation
Christoffer Boe
Pilou Asbæk, Nicolas Bro
Maybe the best thing to come out of Scandinavia during the hippie years was, in fact, the story of a radical libertarian and a hedonist capitalist. Their friendship, forged by being outsiders in a conformist country, took them through years of adulation and success, with slight detours into the welcoming arms of vilification and imprisonment. A joyride through taxation, mass travel, hookers and politics. Not feeling too constrained by historical facts, director Christoffer Boe's story of Simon Spies and Mogens Glistrup covers just a few of their decades in a tale of warmth and humour, defiance and eccentricity.
