Kota Srinivasa Rao is a wealthy man, with poor relatives waiting for him to die so that they can get their hands on his money. Kota wants to get married so that he can leave his health to an heir. Four men, Gopi (Naresh), Mohan (Rajesh), Krishna (Pradeep) and Murthy (Subhakar) fall for Seetha (Mahalakshmi), and try to impress her. One fine day they all go to Seetha and ask her whom she love. Then Seetha replies that it is Madhu (Kamalakar). They all are shocked. Then Seetha narrates the flashback. When Seetha was travelling in a bus, Madhu (Kamalakar) is standing beside her and when he is trying to give money to conductor his coin slips into Seetha's blouse. The conductor asks for change, but he has no change, the conductor asks him to get down. Madhu says he has an exam, then Seetha gets a ticket for him too. Seetha teaches music for Madhu's friend's sisters and some girls. There he proposes to her by showing a classical song in a music book. She responds with the same feeling by showing another song.

The film begins with two con artists Bala & Veera who meet in a very crazy situation and start living together. Out of goodwill, they call each other as Babayi-Abbayi, and their livelihood is making debts and absconding from lenders. Once Bala is acquainted with a beautiful girl Krishnaveni / Krishna, daughter of a multi-millionaire Vara Prasada Rao and they fall in love. Being cognizant of it, Vara Prasada Rao assigns a task for Bala by allocating a huge amount of Rs.25 lakhs and asks him to spend it within 30 days. Eventually, warns him not to donate or destroy the money. At present, Bala starts the task under the guidance of Babai in various methods such as racing, gambling, making a movie, constructing the house, etc.
