He was married to Rosetta Millington from 2000 to 2008, and they have four children: Cassius, Grace, Violet, and June. Getty dated Sienna Miller from 2007 to 2009 but returned to his wife.
Getty's acting career began in 1987 when he auditioned for the lead role in Lord of the Flies. He also appeared in Charmed and Alias, and from 2006 to 2011, he played Tommy Walker in the series Brothers & Sisters. Getty has also worked as a model for Versace and Calvin Klein.
