Lee Isaac Chung (born October 19, 1978) is an American filmmaker known for his debut feature Munyurangabo (2007), the first narrative film in Kinyarwanda, which was selected for the Cannes Film Festival. He gained widespread recognition for directing the semi-autobiographical film Minari (2020), earning numerous awards, including the Golden Globe for Best Foreign Language Film, and nominations for Best Director and Best Original Screenplay at the Academy Awards.

In 2023, Chung directed an episode of The Mandalorian, and in 2024, he directed the disaster film Twisters.

Born in Denver to a South Korean family, Chung lived briefly in Atlanta before moving to a farm in Lincoln, Arkansas, where he attended Lincoln High School. He studied biology at Yale University but switched to filmmaking after being exposed to world cinema. He later attended graduate school for filmmaking at the University of Utah.

Chung is married to Valerie Chu, whom he met at Yale, and they have a daughter.
