Lucia is in love with a honest fisherman of Naples and dreams of marrying with him soon. After a tivial incident, Lucia hurts her hand a young doctor takes care of her. The young doctor, who lives in a villa nearby, is also an accomplished violinist, who can play the instrument beautifully. Lucia can't resist her feelings after hearing the doctor playing and cheats on the fisherman, who swears vengeance.

Jone ovvero gli ultimi giorni di Pompei (1913) was one of two major Italian productions of The Last Days of Pompeii done in 1913, and not to be confused by the more famous Gli ultimi giorni di Pompei (1913).
