Kelly Marcel
1974 (51 год)Kelly is the daughter of director Terry Marcel and actress Lindsey Brookand, and she is the older sister of actress Rosie Marcel.
At the start of her career, Kelly had minor roles in series such as Midsomer Murders and Catastrophe. She later shifted her focus from acting to writing while working at a video rental store in London, where she befriended Tom Hardy. He invited her to rewrite the screenplay for Bronson (2008).
Marcel wrote the script for the TV show Gondwanaland Highway and sold a death row drama script titled Westbridge to Showtime, which became her "calling card" in Hollywood. After returning to London, she was approached by Alison Owen to work on a screenplay about author P.L. Travers and Walt Disney, leading to the creation of Saving Mr. Banks, which made it onto the "Black List."
In 2012, Marcel adapted the bestseller Fifty Shades of Grey. Although the film was a commercial success, she expressed dissatisfaction with the final product. She also worked on the screenplay for Venom (2018) and its sequel Venom 2 (2021). In October 2022, Marcel was appointed as the director, writer, and producer of Venom: The Last Dance.
